August 22-23, 2024
Halifax, Nova Scotia/at sea for Boston
On day thirty-four we sailed into Halifax. We were fortunate to
have good weather again. We left the ship and walked along the
boardwalk toward The Bicycle Thief, an Italian restaurant that
specializes in seafood. After lunch, we called
for an Uber to take us to the Citadel. We
arrived at the front gate and got tickets to go
inside. We walked all around the fort, exploring what life was like for the troops there in the early
days.
Eric and Pegi walked to
the Public Gardens but
Sue and I decided to walk back to the ship. It was fun to wander the streets in this beautiful city. After seeing
the pictures of the gardens, I was happy that we got to
have different perspectives but we enjoyed our walk to
see more of the local life. We also chose to have dinner
in different restaurants. We chose Café Chianti, which
was near the
ship. Pegi
and Eric
wanted to
try a place
called
Cable Wharf.
Day thirty-five was spent mostly preparing for disembarkation when we arrive in Boston tomorrow. We were able to spend one more evening listening to Nathan play his piano and sing.
